Enterprise Inventory Integration

Problem

Inventory data lived across multiple enterprise systems with no unified view. Warehouse teams, planning teams, and commercial teams each worked from different numbers, leading to forecasting errors, stock mismatches, and manual reconciliation work.

Approach

Building a unified inventory source of truth by integrating data from the company’s ERP, warehouse management systems, and partner platforms. Designing for real-time synchronization rather than batch updates.

The judgment call

The temptation in enterprise integration is to build a perfect schema upfront. I chose to start with a “good enough” integration that surfaces discrepancies first, then iterate toward accuracy. Like the first few weeks of a new training plan: you do not optimize splits before you establish a baseline.

Outcome

In progress. Early integration work has already surfaced data discrepancies that explain long-standing forecasting gaps.
